Many Europeans OK With Biometrics Checks

Interesting news from the United Kingdom. It seems that Brits are overwhelmingly fine with biometrics. That's right. In a recent survey 75% of British citizens said they would submit to biometrics checks in airports, retail and other security situations. In France only 59% of people would subject to biometric checks by the government. The number rose for Germany and Italy at 62% and 63% respectively.
Not sure where Americans stand on this issue, but I would guess that since we have more of a libertarian streak than the average European our numbers would be lower.
One of the things EastwoodNet and Personal Identity Solutions is attempting with its patent pending recoverable biometrics software is to alleviate fears of biometric loss. Once you lose your biometric, it is gone forever. But recoverable biometrics gives the user a high level of information security and assurance.
